Silent computer doesn't awake children and your colleagues :)

Has your child ever been awakened with the loud "Ta-Daaam!" sound your laptop played when you turned it on at late evening? Have you ever opened notebook at conference, on business meeting or in the public library so the computer loudly notified everybody about your new messages or something? I bet you wanted to smash the computer into smithereens then! Each time this happens to me, I promise myself to turn off the sound before logging off, but I always forget about this in few minutes.

I've been experiencing this for a long while, my daughter Kristina even had time to grow up. Actually, the idea of how to solve this problem was published by me many years ago, but nobody wanted to make a solution. Finally, I decided to remember how to create programs and to make the software by myself. Hope this sound mute program will let, at least, my son Luka sleep well :)

Software making a computer quiet by default

I've created a small Auto Mute software utility to make a PC silent when it's turning on or is waking up. A solution is as easy as a pie! The sound is automatically muted when the computer is turning off or is going to sleep/suspend mode. Also there is an option to mute sound when screensaver appears. So the next system start is absolutely silent even if you forgot to turn the sound off in previous session. After restart you can unmute sound effects manually, using a shortcut combination. Moreover, you may use this keyboard shortcut to quickly switch the sound on and off when working.
